What's Christmas...really?

Bringing out the booze, calling your kakis, partying until the next day till you're hungover. This is what christmas is to some people. Santa Clause from the north pole, elves making the toys, children staying awake at christmas eve hoping they could catch a glimpse of santa. I'm sure that's what most children around the world think.

Christmas has become so commercialized that the true meaning and purpose behind such celebration is hidden amongst the commercialize christmas or xmas for short.

I'm pretty sure most of you know that Christmas is the day when a baby boy was born into this world. This baby boy was said to be the savior of the world, the one that many Christians believe is God's only son, born of the virgin Mary. The one who's name is called Jesus Christ.

If you ask a non-Christian, they would say that's the story too. But imagine, there are still children at some parts of the world celebrate Christmas but never knew that the purpose of the celebration was to remember the time when Jesus came to earth. The only thing in their mind are presents under the Christmas tree. Do you agree?

Santa Clause... St. Nicholas, whoever that may be, is said to live at the north pole. He also has worker elves to help him make presents for children. Santa is nothing more but a fictional character. Who knows, some guy/girl made that up to get their kids to bed.

" Sleep or santa won't come "

Children that stayed awake hoping see santa might end up seeing another "santa", a burglar with a bag, not to give gifts but to take ironic. What I learned many years back, was that the name SANTA, after re-arranging the letters it reads SATAN, double the irony.

What Christmas is to me?

Christmas to me is the time I feel peace, serenity, joy and comfort. It's the only time I feel happy. There's this feeling inside me that I can't describe, this tingling feeling that I always feel when Christmas is around the corner. No doubt, I also do expect presents during Christmas...

This year and the years to come, the only gift of Christmas I would wholly appreciate is the gift of healing for my mother, whom has bravely went through countless obstacles- her operations, her stay at the hospital, the cancer...
I used to wish for better things, material stuffs.... I still wish for those, but compare to what I mentioned...I would rather give up every wish just for that one wish to be fulfilled.

John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

God loves us so so much that He gave his only Son to die on the cross, wearing the crown of thorns, getting whipped countless times just for us to step into heaven. No human is willing to give his life for someone dearly.

Christmas is not about getting drunk, it is not about getting presents from santa clause, it is certainly not about celebrating a baby..

Christmas is about celebrating THE baby, who took those sins we have and took it with Him upon the wooden cross.

Christmas is about a King who left His throne to make earth his home...

Christmas is about God's son, Jesus Christ...

Christmas isn't Christmas
till it happens in your hearts
somewhere deep inside you
is where Christmas really starts
so give your heart to Jesus
You'll discover when you do
that Christmas's really Christmas
for you...

We were the reason that
He gave His life
We were the reason that
He suffered and died
To a world that was lost
He gave all He could give
to show us the reason to live...

Will you give your heart to Jesus today?
